mom, santa brought presents!
Since we are heading for Kansas on Christmas Eve, we asked Santa to come this last Saturday night so we could celebrate Christmas here at home before we head out. I don't think Madison really understood what was going on, but she loved all the new toys. Santa got her a little people town, thomas the train set, tricycle, Play-doh and other stocking stuffers. The Little Mermaid doll was from Rick and I. She loved all of it, although we have to do the tricycle in small doses because she gets frustrated and doesn't understand how to make it work. Kids really do make Christmas better.

big kid at the park
Two weekends ago we had a nice 70 degree day. It was windy, but warm. So we went to the park for the first time in a while. Madison has decided lately that she had to do everything by herself. So she had to get on the big swing and swing herself. Then she had to slide down the slide all by herself. If we came to close she would shake her figure at us and say "no.no,no".

trains at northpark
A couple of weekends ago we went to Northpark mall to check out the trains. We watched the Scrooge puppet show first. I'm not sure Madison knew what was going on. Then we went to the train exhibit. She loved watching all the trains. Although I think the Thomas and Percy trains where the favorites. The pictures don't do it justice, it was an elaborate set-up with towns, lakes, bridges and at least 40 train sets, if not more.

we've created a monster
We let Madison pull a chair up to the counter one night while we were cooking dinner. Now she only wants to stand on the chair by the counter. She even wants to eat there. She used to get mad when we made her eat at the table with us, but she is getting better about it now. She does love to stand here.

Thanksgiving
We went to Wichita this year for Thanksgiving. We had a great time on Thursday with all the cousins. Thanksgiving for the Posts typical means seeing our second cousins, but not our first cousins. Its great because Jenny and Stephanie have kids a little older than Madison. And she loves to try to play with them. We didn't get any good shots of the group (Rick failed at his job). But I did get Madison playing with the centerpiece and showing off her ponytail. Her hair is getting really long!

sweet tooth
Maddie has her dad's sweet tooth. This is the evidence of a chocolate chip cookie.
She has also discovered MnM's. We used to have a ceramic pumpkin on the front table with MnM's. But last weekend while I was out running an errand, Madison decided she wanted some. So after a few, Rick tried to hide the pumpkin in the pantry. He moved it 3 times and she kept finding it. Dad isn't very good at saying no.

Dallas Zoo
Two weekends ago we went to the Dallas Zoo. It was a beautiful day. Madison loved all the animals as usual. Although we were a little disappointed in the lack of animals. We heard later that the Fort Worth Zoo is much better. Another day...

They did have a neat Children's area and playground that Madison enjoyed.

Fun with Friends
So Madison didn't do this, but I had to share and to keep for future viewing.
I got an email last week from Carissa about Emaline. Here it is:
Oh, the cutest thing happened on Saturday afternoon. Emaline was playing in her kitchen and taking care of her babies when I heard her talking on her phone. I asked her who she was talking to and she said "Madison". :) She was telling Madison that she had a party for Halloween and asked why she wasn't there. Then I told her to ask Madison if she liked Dallas. Then she started to walk outside thru the doors to the backyard (still talking to Madison). About 30 seconds later, she came back inside and said, "Madison says I need a jacket" and then proceeded to get her jacket out of the hallway closet. :) I was cracking up! I thought it was so cute that she was thinking about Maddie and having this entire conversation with her. Don't you just love this age?

Halloween
So here are the great pictures of Madison in her Halloween costume! Oh wait, Madison wouldn't put on her Halloween costume!
We tried for about a hour to get her in it. Even suggested she put on her costume like the kids that had come to the door. And that we could go outside if she would put it on, but no. Oh and no is her favorite word. The last week I think that is all she has said. So I've got a good deal on a ladybug costume size 2T if anyone is interested. Never been worn.
I did take this pics earlier in the day on Halloween. I switched out some of the clothes in Madison's dresser and found this hat. She loved wearing in even though it was 75 degrees outside.

This is Madison trying to put her leggings on over her overalls. The leggings were part of her ladybug costume.
