Since we were painting the dining room, we had to empty the hutch and we put everything out on the table. Madison found all my paper plates. Leftovers from parties. So she spread them out all over the floor and the counter and ate her dinner on one.

keeping warm

So you would think it is cold here by the looks of these pictures, but it has been 60 or higher for weeks now. This is last Thursday after school. She saw her gloves and mine and decided we both needed to wear them. Then she wanted my gloves.

When we re-did the kitchen, we also bought a small fridge for the utility room to replace our extra fridge we had in the old house. Anyway, we turned the box into a house for Madison. She loves to look out the windows. She likes it when I come in, but I barely fit.

night night Sadie

Madison loves to make everyone go night night. Her dolls, her stuffed animals, mom, dad. This includes us laying on a pillow covered with a sheet and a blanket on our backs. The Sunday after Valentine's she decided Sadie needed a blanket so she could got night night too. Luckily she didn't try to make Sadie lay on the pillow.

After nap on Valentine's day, Madison decided she wanted to wear her dress with her jeans. Its a dress from last summer that I still have hanging in her closet, so I'm surprised it fit. Then it was time for dinner. You have to love that messy face.

aipan (or airplane)

For Valentine's Day we took Madison to the Addison Airplane Museum. Madison loves to point out the airplanes that fly over the house every 5 minutes, so we figured this would be right up her alley. She liked the first couple of hangers that were more spread out, but she really wanted to touch the airplanes, which of course you aren't supposed to do. The last 2 hangers were more packed in, so I think she got a little overwhelmed and decided it was time to go. She did manage to pick out a toy airplane in the gift shop and she loves to make it fly. She also did stop moving very long so we could take pictures.

So I have a good excuse

I really do have a good excuse that its been so long since I've posted. Rick and I are pretty much crazy and we have been painting like crazy people. And we aren't done yet, just taking a break.
The bottom 2 pictures are the before. We started with the kitchen cabinets, then did the kitchen walls, then the dining room. It has taken us considerably longer than normal because we have Madison to deal with. So except for one morning when Madison and I went to the library and park, we have been painting when Madison sleeps. So at night during the week and Friday night, and during naps. It was hard, but definitely worth it. It already looks better and we feel more comfortable. Now for the big room and the wood paneling...

The following Thursday, Madison had to put these barrettes in her hair after bath. And she actually left them in until bed. Usually she stands on her stool in the bathroom and looks at all the hairbands and barrettes in the drawer. Then I have to put one in her hair, then she takes it right out, then another and she takes it right out and so on. We had to work on the hairbands for a long time, so maybe someday she'll got with the barrettes.

The day after surgery, Madison was already up and moving. She found this umbrella in Dad's car and had to play with. She thought it was so funny playing peekaboo with it.

Our little girl is back!

So its been 3 weeks since we had the ear tubes in and what a difference it has made! First of all we had gotten to the point where it was hard to go out to eat or even run more than one errand because Madison just got fussy. She still has her moments now, but we can be gone for 4 hours and she is fine. (And the moments now are more about her not getting her way...oh the terrible twos have already started).
Second, Madison is speaking in full sentences, where before the tubes, she really wasn't talking all that much. The doctor did say it was like she had cotton balls stuck in her ears, so she apparently she couldn't hear us. Its amazing how fast things have changed.
We are so happy she is feeling better and back to herself. Although she has more energy now! But we'll take it!
