Its official. Madison is finally getting a sibling! She says she is very excited, but we'll see what happens when the baby comes. Right now she only wants a baby sister. And she loves to talk about the baby in mommy's tummy. But she keeps asking when the baby is coming so it could be a long 6 or so months. I'm 13 week along and we are all really excited! We should find out boy or girl in early Dec, so we'll see if Madison gets her way.
The second week of October we made it back to Colorado for a week of vacation. We rented a cabin just outside of Colorado Springs. We hiked, went shopping, visited Garden of the Gods, rode the train up Pikes Peak, went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, some more hiking, and lots of hanging out at the cabin. Oh and we took a whole lot of picture of Madison. Imagine that. Enjoy. Lunch on our hike. Maddie and her Daddy This was a short hike just for kids in Mueller State Park. It had lots of signage, extra stuff for kids and Madison loved it. Pikes Peak. Garden of the Gods This crazy bench in Manitou Springs. On top of Pikes Peak. We had about 4 inches of snow and it was cold! The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Feeding the giraffes. The carousal, of course... The tigers fighting at the zoo. Hiking up a waterfall. It was a about half a mile straight up. I kept asking if she wanted to stop, but she practically ran up the trail. Our cabin.
While we were on vacation (more about that next) Madison true this picture of Mickey Mouse. Its one of the first things she has drawn that is actually something and not scribbles.
The weekend after the wedding we headed to Louisburg Cider Mill for Cider Fest. We checked out the pumpkins, had some delish cider donuts, checked out the giant slide and rode a pony.
Sept 25th Ashley and Cy tied the knot. Madison was one of the flower girls. (Cy's niece was also a flower girl and his nephew was the ring bearer). Madison did not perform her duties very well. She insisted on walking down the aisle with me (the matron of honor). She didn't throw a single flower. Then she wouldn't sit with Rick or Grandma like she was supposed to. So she stood next to me until she wanted me to pick her up. When I said no, she sat on the floor and started crying. So Rick picked her up and walked out of the room as she was crying. Other than that, the weekend and wedding was wonderful! The wedding and reception were at the Kansas City club. Everything was beautiful. And we had a great time. The happy couple. The best picture of the whole family... Waiting for the show to start. The Smith family. The Post sibs. Madison kissing Cousin Isaac. Madison had no problem dancing in front of everyone.
