We had a great Father's day weekend, unfortunately we didn't get any pics of Madison with Dad. I did manage to get Madison singing Twinkle Twinkle, as she fell to the floor. Not sure why she kept sinking, but its pretty funny.

snack on the go
Pretty toes
That same weekend we also got Madison a pool for the backyard. This one is big enough that I can sit in it too when it gets too hot. I also painted Madison's toes that weekend too. She noticed that I had painted mine, and she wanted "pretty toes" too. Now sometimes she'll just stop what she is doing and show you her pretty toes.

speak Sadie
One of Sadie's tricks is to speak on command. We evidently to this trick often because Monday night Madison had goldfish, she wanted to give Sadie one so she told her to speak. We had to help her get the sequence right, but she knew what she was doing. And Sadie listened to her.
walking on the river
After dinner on Saturday we walked back to the hotel along the River. Right outside our hotel are these benches that are original from when the Riverwalk was first built.

They moved this bench inside the hotel when they built it. So it had pillows. Here is Madison pretending to take a nap, including snoring sounds.
San Antonio & Seaworld
Last weekend we took a long weekend trip to San Antonio. We drove down Thursday night with a stopped in Austin for dinner with Aunt Connie. Friday was Seaworld, afternoon in the pool and dinner on the Riverwalk. Saturday was a big breakfast, the Alamo, shopping, a boat tour, more pool in the afternoon and dinner at the Riverwalk with ice cream. Then back on Sunday. It was a great little mini-vacation and Madison did great sleeping in the hotel room.

We also saw the sea loin show, the killer whale show and the penguins. The sea lions were more exciting for Madison. There was also a splash park area that she liked to watch the kids, but not really get wet.

mint drink
Rick's family has a recipe for Mint Drink that is a favorite. It's a mint steeped in simple syrup with juice and water added. Its really good and we finally got the recipe right and made it for the start of summer. It was a big hit with us all, including Madison.

its summertime
Memorial weekend we hung out here in the big D. We did some shopping, cleaning up around the house and other chores. So Monday we decided we needed to play. We bought Madison this pool for the backyard and had a BBQ for dinner. Madison loved the pool and we had to pry her out for lunch and nap. She would have stayed in it all day if we had let her. As you can tell dumping her watering can and splashing were her favorite activities.

is that Ariel
Madison's new favorite movie is The Little Mermaid. And she loves to spin around and "sing" like Ariel. In this video she even has her Ariel nightgown on.
Oh and her head is fine.

Mothers Day take 2
I had wanted to go to the Arboretum for Mother's Day, but it was raining that morning. So we tried again the next weekend and got a perfect day. It was sunny and low 70s. Madison and I had been before, but Rick had not. And Madison and I saw a whole part that we missed the first time. That's how big it is. They still had the storybook houses up. This is one.

big potty!
So I have so much to catch up on the blog, but first I have to tell everyone that Madison went potty in her potty chair for the first time tonight! I asked her when we first got home, but she wasn't interested. Then after dinner I mentioned that Sadie needed to go outside to potty, and she ran to the bathroom. She was very proud of herself and so was I. We have the teachers at school to thank! And we still have a long way to go. :)
