splash park

After a lot of rain the past couple of weeks, it was back up to the high 90s this weekend. So Sunday, we decided to try the splash park a friend had told me about. Madison had a great time and even made a friend. She was not to happy when the bucket poured water on her head though (it fills up and pours and then fills up again). She just happend to be standing under it and I didn't get her moved fast enough.

hopscotch

Madison and I hopping on the stepping stones in the backyard one night last week.

the house

So here is the long post. Here are a bunch of pics of the house. I'll try to explain some. We moved in August 1st. It took a couple of weeks to get unpacked and everything hung up on the wall. Madison was set to start daycare on the 18th and I was going to start doing some contract work for 360 that same day. The friday before the monday I was supposed to start, 360 called and said that they didn't need me anymore. So I've been trying to get a job ever since. I have 2 offers, and I'm excited about one. Hopefully it will be a great place. They don't want me to start for a couple of weeks though, so I might be doing a lot of painting! Madison seems to be doing well in the new daycare. She comes home talking and talking. And she tells me she has had fun every day when I pick her up. The park is right down the street and Madison knows it. So she loves to point at the front door and cry if we don't take her right away. She would swing all day if we let her.
Anyway, here are the pics. We have a lot of painting to do, including the paneling and kitchen cabinets. Oh and if I haven't told you, almost everyone down here has an alley. So the garage is at the back of the house, attached. Someday it will be done...
entry. I'm standing in living room and master is off to the right.

Living room. entry is off to the right. back of couch faces the dining room and I'm almost standing in the kitchen. straight ahead in the picture you can see the hallway to the family room and back bedrooms. you can all see the doors to the wet bar to the left of the fireplace. don't be to jealous.

dining room. between kitchen and hallway to master bedroom

kitchen. garage is off the back of the house and you enter through the kitchen.

we call this the courtyard. its has house on 3 sides (kitchen, dining and master bedroom)

hallway off the entry to the master bedroom. the front door is on the left, you can see the small 1/2 bath just down the hall. and the dining room is on the right.

master

our closet opposite the vanity. compared to our tiny PV closets, this is huge! Almost too much space. Thank goodness since we don't have a basement.

Master vanity

Master bath. I just painted this room Wednesday and it looks a ton better. I'll put new pics up soon.

family room

Standing in family room, looking down hall. 2nd bath on left, Madison's room straight ahead. Spare bedroom is on right next to Madison's room

Second bath.

Madison's room. the lovely floral drape has already been changed to match the white ones.

backyard

fishes and more

My dad's office has a branch in Dallas, and they have a private plane that comes down sometimes. The day we found our house back in June, I had taken the plane down for the day to look for houses. Thank goodness I did. Oh the 13th, my mom decided to come down for the day. We picked her up at Love Field and went the Dallas Aquarium. It turned out to be more than just an aquarium. They had monkeys, otters, crocodiles, sloths, a jaguar, penguins and all kinds of birds and reptiles. Madison had a great time and it was fun to see Grandma, even for just a day! The pics are though one aquarium, pointing up to the monkeys, the rays in the tank and the penguins.

unpacking

Here are some pictures from the first few weeks in the house as we unpacked. Madison lining her car with bubble wrap, Madison finding her hat, taking a break in her chair, and longing to go outside even though its too hot.

Craig's pics

Back when we were still in Wichita, we went to dinner at Carrie and Craig's house. I mentioned it earlier and told everyone to check out their blog. Just in case you didn't, here are the pics. Great job Craig! Carrie, thanks for sending them to me.

I'm back

Sorry its been so long since I posted. First there was the move, than the unpacking, then the Olympics and then the job search. But more about that later. Here are some pictures Grandpa took the weekend we moved in. Madison being reunited with her car. Madison in her new Disney Princesses chair that Dad bought her (she loves it!). Madison making a funny face. And Madison with Grandpa in the front yard.
