More Dance Recital

Video of the dance recital. I had a better view of the stage, but my mom's new camera is much better quality. But then of course I made it smaller to fit on the blog.
Its in 2 parts. We did miss the bow at the end, but you can imagine.
Also, at the beginning she was waving to Grandpa and I who were down front taking pictures.

First Dance Recital

Madison had her first dance recital in mid-November. It was quite the event. There were about 8 classes of 6-10 girls in each class. They each did a dance and then there was a finale with everyone. Madison was soooo excited for about a week before. When we got there all she wanted to do was run around on stage. The place was packed by showtime. They danced to Getting to Know You from the King and I. Maddie's class got on stage and she didn't look very happy at all. My dad and I snuck down to the front to get pictures and we waved at Maddie. That seems to help.
I'm pretty sure the was the only girl that fell in the entire show, but she got right back up and kept going. And let's face, we are used to her falling. The best part that we all missed on the video at the end when Madison was the only girl in her class to take a bow. And it was a bow with flourish. Hilarious!

elephant ballerina?

My mom found my old costume from a dance recital when I was little. It is supposed to be an elephant. Not quite as glamorous as the costume Madison got to wear to her recital, but she thought it was great. And had to try it on more than once...

November Birthdays

Grandma and Grandpa came up the weekend of Madison's dance recital, so we also celebrated November Birthdays. Ashley, Cy and my aunt Karen. Madison helped open the gifts as usual.

I can write my name

So Madison choose to write her name for the first time in the bathtub! So this is the keepsake that I have... She loves to write her name now on everything. Sometimes her letter's are still backwards, but we are working on it :)

My little black cat

On Halloween we went to Gradame's for lunch and the chiefs game. After the game we went to trunk or treat at school and then home for dinner before the big night. Madison was ready to go even before it was dark. So once we had had several kids come to the house we set off. I have never seen so many kids trick-or-treating as I did that night. Madison would run from group to group. I kept telling her to slow down, but she was too excited. After a few pieces of candy, Madison collapsed into bed.

So I have some cousins that are crazy enough to want to trek to Everest Base camp. Dave is actually my mom's cousin and he went with his daughter Jenny's husband Brian. The weekend before they left, they had a good luck dinner for the one that lives here in town. Brian and Jenny have a daughter Anna that is 8, a redhead and Madison loves it when we see her. So we had a great send off dinner and Madison could have stayed all night with the older girls.

Halloween Parade

Madison's class had a parade at school the Thursdsay before Halloween. They walked around and around the gym waving, and then they all sang 3 Halloween songs they had been practicing. Madison ended up holding Annabelle's hand as they walked around. It was too cute!

The weekend before Halloween we carved our pumpkins.Unfortunately it was a little too early and they were a bit rotten by Halloween. Madison had lots of fun cleaning out the pumpkins.

new addition

Its official. Madison is finally getting a sibling! She says she is very excited, but we'll see what happens when the baby comes. Right now she only wants a baby sister. And she loves to talk about the baby in mommy's tummy. But she keeps asking when the baby is coming so it could be a long 6 or so months. I'm 13 week along and we are all really excited! We should find out boy or girl in early Dec, so we'll see if Madison gets her way.

Back to the mountians

The second week of October we made it back to Colorado for a week of vacation. We rented a cabin just outside of Colorado Springs. We hiked, went shopping, visited Garden of the Gods, rode the train up Pikes Peak, went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, some more hiking, and lots of hanging out at the cabin. Oh and we took a whole lot of picture of Madison. Imagine that. Enjoy.
