spinning in my new nightgown

I found this nightgown for Madison a month or so ago, but it wasn't warm enough to wear until last week. Now, I can't get her to wear anything else to bed. This video is the first night she put it on. She loves to spin in her dresses so that is what she is doing. (Sorry its turned. I keep forgetting that we can't figure out how to rotate the movies.)

Go Royals!

Two weekends ago the Royals were in town to play the Rangers. We bought tickets a month ago thinking it was a 6pm game. But it was a 7pm game. Madison made it until about 8:30, but then she was done. She didn't watch the game all that well either. She was much more interested in the concourse and everything that was going on there. But it was fun to see the stadium and see a little of the Royals. Plus Madison got to wear her new shirt that Dad got for her.

makeup, already?

A couple of Fridays ago, Madison hung out with me in the bathroom while I put on my makeup. So, of course, she decided see needed to put on makeup as well. Luckily it was just the blush.

More easter

After my nap on Easter sunday, we put some more eggs out for Madison to get (and for Dad since he missed it). Madison had just as much fun as the first time. I love the first picture.

Easter weekend

Last weekend for Easter weekend Madison, Sadie and I made the long trip to Wichita by ourselves. We left Thursday night and other than a 30 minute detour due to wildfires, we did pretty good. I turned the DVD player off at 8:30 pm and Madison finally fell asleep about 9:30. And we got there 15 minutes later. Figures.
Friday we bought a baby gift for Carrie's baby shower that was on Saturday. Then made a trip to Grandpa's office and lunch with Grandpa.
Saturday morning we went to the country club for the Easter Party. First food, then a petting zoo and then Easter eggs. We saw the truck with the petting zoo and told Madison they were going to unload the animals, but then the moved the truck. So she kept asking where the animals were. We were the first ones down for the petting zoo. Madison loved the rabbits and the baby cow. Then when it was time for Easter eggs, Madison was not interesting in waiting for them to say go. She kept inching toward the eggs. Once they said go, she was off running and she got a ton of eggs. When we made it to the top of the hill, she wanted more so she headed back down to look for more.
Mom and I headed to Carrie's baby shower while Maddie and Grandpa napped. It was great to see Carrie pregnant, her family, Becky and her mom. Oh and the pistachio gelato was awesome too!
Sunday morning we packed up and headed back home. Maddie did really good on the ride home, and even slept for about an hour! (she never sleeps in the car). I was exhausted when we got home and let Rick spend some quality time with Madison while I took a nap.
It was a great Easter weekend!
(Oh Rick headed to KC for opening day to see the signage he designed out at Royals stadium. I can't wait to see it in person!)

On the hunt for more eggs.

Even more birthday

The Tuesday after Madison's birthday another gift showed up from Renny, Luke and Brian. (They had also sent a Radio Flyer wagon a couple of weeks before.) This package included some gifts from their recent trip to Disney World! Minnie ears, a cinderella necklace, mickey barettes and a minnie mouse doll. All a big hit with Madison.

more birthday

On Madison's birthday after nap we got a video chat with Rick's parents and Renny, Brian and Luke. Madison opened her present from Grandame and Grandad while we were on the chat and we were so busy chatting we didn't get any pictures. At first Madison wasn't so sure about Cinderella, her gift. But she warmed up to her quickly and was dancing with Cinderella quickly. This video is from Monday night after school.

Happy Birthday Madison!

We were all pretty tired from our camping trip on Sunday. But we did manage to celebrate Madison's birthday again. We went to dinner and then had a cupcake when we got back, although Madison didn't eat much. She was more interested in more presents. She got a Sleeping Beauty tea set, stickers and notebook from Emaline (and Carissa and Chris) which she loved! And a couple of books from Rick and I.
I can't believe our litte girl is 2! Seems like just yesterday that she was turned one.

my little princess wears hiking boots

This weekend we met the Braleys, the Bennetts and Mike in the Wichita Mountain for some camping. Madison had a great time and did really good sleeping in the tent. Sadie came along too and she did great also. We went for a hike Saturday morning and saw some Bison. We took naps and hung out at the camp. Saturday night we went into town for a Meersburger, then back to camp for some smores and a fire. The weekend ended a little early though. I got in the tent for bed about 11 and everything was fine, but shortly after that a front moved in the wind picked up. Rick and Sadie came to bed, but we only made it about 20 minutes before we decided to pack up and head home. The wind was blowing about 20 mph and gusting to 40. Sadie wouldn't even lay down. So we got home about 3 in the morning. Then Bennetts went to a hotel before we started to pack up, but we didn't realized it. We were going to come home Sunday anyway, but the others were supposed to stay until Monday. They decided it wasn't worth it and headed home early.
Breakfast the first morning.

Dress up and animal crackers. It doesn't get better than that.

reading to Sadie

Last week Sadie decided to read to Sadie.

ladybugs

The weekend before last we had a really cold windy day on Saturday and then a gorgeous perfect day on Sunday. So we went to the park and hung out for quite a while. We took Madison's glider and while we were throwing it around Rick noticed the ladybugs. For some reason there were tons of them on these flowers. So we just sat by the tracks and watched the them.

reading to myself

Two Fridays ago Madison decided she needed to read to herself outside.

And I had to take a picture of those ringlets.

singing in the tub

First we were singing the Hot Dog song from the Mickey Mouse clubhouse. Then the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse song. Then Madison tells Daddy to put the camera in his pocket.
She also likes hide under her towel after bathtime.

new dress

Sunday morning we had breakfast and then Mom and Dad headed home. Ashley stayed with us until Monday morning, so she made a trip to target with us and talked us into getting Madison a new dress. As soon as we got home, Madison had to put it on. These pictures are from after nap. Playing with her new airplane, slide and just hanging out.

Fort Worth Zoo

Saturday morning we headed to Fort Worth to check out the Zoo. Much better than the Dallas Zoo. Lots of animals and a nice setup. Madison loved the white tiger and the lions. And she also loved the train ride back to the entrance. She was really mad when we had to get off.
