new wheels

Madison had a tricycle that she was way too big for. We had been looking for a 16" girls bike at garage sales for a while, but was having no luck. So we got her a princess bike and as you can tell she loves it. She is always ready to ride. She even rode up to Starbucks one day while Rick and I walked and Parker rode in his stroller.

one month

Parker is one month old! He was 9 lbs 13 oz when we went to the doctor. Other than his reflux issues, he is growing perfectly. Still getting up at night a lot more than Mommy would like...

No this is not Parker in the baby carrier, just Madison's baby doll.

Cousin Isaac's Birthday

Since we weren't quite ready for a trip to Wichita, we celebrated Isaac's First Birthday while everyone was in town for Spencer's graduation. Madison even got a few presents so she didn't feel left out. We had Oklahoma Joe's and Smallcake cupcakes. Yummy! Happy Birthday Isaac!

Spencer Graduates!

In Mid May, Spencer got is Masters in Social Work. Ashley rode over to Lawrence with us to help out since Parker was only about 3 weeks old. But we all survived and it was great to see Spencer walk across the stage! Plus check out Maddie with that Jayhawk!!

Happy One Week Birthday

When Madison was a baby, my mom and sister got us a ice cream cake for her one week birthday. Even though she couldn't celebrate, we could. So we had to continue the tradition with Parker, only we had ice cream sandwiches.

Maddie's Open House

When Parker was just a week old Madison had her open house at school. So it was Parker's first big outing. The kids sang several songs in the gym and then we got to go to their classroom and see some special projects they had been working on. This video is outside after while Madison and Daddy are waiting for Parker and I. Notice the end pose...

takin' a break

Rick took the week after Parker was born off to hang out and help. One of his main tasks was to help entertain Madison. Here they are swinging outside.

First Bath

We have a video from the first bath, but its mostly him crying. So here are some pics after we were done. He doesn't look too happy, just glad to be done.

G&G

We were lucky enough to have Grandma and Grandpa come stay with Madison while we were in the hospital. I think it was a fun treat for everyone. Here is a pic with G&G and 2 of their grandkids.

Parker Dylan

Parker Dylan was born April 22nd, 2011 at 3:18 pm. He wasn't due until May 1st, but decided to come a little early. The night before he was born, I started having contractions about 2 am. They were about 15 minutes apart. So I slept off and on until about 6 when I just gave up. I had an doctor's appt that morning at 10:15 anyway, so Rick went to work but knew he was coming home soon. And I let Ashley know because she was going to come hang out with Madison. At the doctor's appt I was about 10 min apart and 4 cm dilated, so Dr Wright told me to go home and when I was 7 min apart to come to the hospital. I called Ashley and Rick and we decided it was time to meet up at home.
We all had a little lunch and about 12:20, I decided it was time to go to the hospital. We got there and got checked in. I was at about 5 cm then. The doctor on call, Dr Maggie Smith, asked if I was ready for my epidural first or if I wanted her to break my water. I opted for the drugs. Which was a good thing because by the time I got them, I was fully dilated and ready to push. So after about 2 pushes, Parker was here! He was 6 lbs, 11 oz and 18" long. He had dark hair, but not as much as his sister. And he looks just like Rick :)
By this time my parents, sister and Madison were in the waiting room. So they came in and to meet him. Madison was great with Parker and very excited to meet him.
