Dancing lady
Madison started her dance class a couple of weeks ago. Its a small class at a nearby church. (they use one of the youth rooms that is why the wallpaper in the background). She was so excited to go shopping for her outfit. Its a good thing we did it the day before, I'm not sure she could have contained her excitement if she had to wait longer. The moms are not allowed to watch them dance because its distracting, but we peeked in the windows. They have a recital in 2 months, so more to come. Oh and she wore her outfit for the rest of the day...

Chris brought a Paper Jamz guitar on the trip and Madison took it over. This is the funniest thing I think I've seen in a while...
Weston
The weekend of Sept 11, we did the most American thing we could think of. We went camping. We talked the Braleys into making the trek to Weston State Park with us. They went early and got us 2 campsites. We showed up about 4 to set up camp and the kids instantly starting playing in the dirt. We managed to eat dinner and hang out for a little before the rain moved in. We spent about an hour hanging out in the car waiting for the rain to stop. Then we went straight to bed. Madison slept in her new sleeping bag (christmas present last year) and actually slept in it this time instead of on top.
The next day we made a gourmet camp breakfast (eggs, sausage and cinnamon rolls). And then hiked one of the trails there at the park. It was a little longer than I thought it was going to be and the kids and I were pretty tired after.
Then back to camp for lunch and hanging out until the Bennetts showed up. Once they came we headed to O'Malley's for dinner. Then back to camp to play, make the campfire and eat smores.
All weekend there was butterflies all over the place. It must have been migrating season. Alex even caught a couple. They also found some toads. The kids played in the dirt and gravel under the picnic tables when they weren't catching butterflies. It was good to be camping again. But we were all exhausted when we got home.

Labor Day for Amy
My cousin Mitch got married in Chicago Labor Day weekend. So M&D, Spence, Ash, Cy and I flew up Saturday morning, the wedding was Sunday night and then we flew back Monday morning. Saturday we did some shopping and hung out with the wedding folks at Grant Park. Then the rehearsal at Cooper's in Lincoln Park. Sunday we did the Architectural tour and some sightseeing, then the wedding. It was a quick weekend but a good time was had by all.

Labor Day for Maddie
Labor Day weekend I went to Chicago with my family for my cousin's wedding (more on that later), so Labor Day was a Daddy and Madison weekend. They went to Deanna Rose Saturday for most of the morning. Then they visited Gradame and Grandad on Sunday. And I got back Monday morning.

First Day of School, or at least Preschool
Sept 2nd Madison started her Preschool. She is going 2 mornings a week. I was worried she would be clingy after our summer together, but she was fine the first morning. Very excited. The first picture I actually took after class, when the hall wasn't so crowded. And she is eating her chocolate kiss. The get one every day after school and its amazing how fast she picked up on that. So far she is loving it!
A night at the K
Madison and I had not been out to the K yet this year so we headed out the last day of August. Rick is been working on the Hall of Fame so we were excited to see it. Although Madison was more interested in the carousel and kids area then the baseball game. It was also a little hot, so that didn't help her attention span.
