I stoled these pics off Rick's blog, but I did take one of them. So I guess that's fair. Madison decided she wanted to take her clothes off while we were outside last night. I guess we have entered that stage.





 

riding my bike, kind of

Madison has been riding her bike in the alley often lately. I say riding, but she is not very good at actually pedaling. She likes to pull herself with her feet more than pedal. And she doesn't seem to notice when it is hot. But she is rocking the princess helmet.

big time

Madison took her first shower by herself tonight. She used to be scared of the water coming out of the shower head, but maybe its like the splash park, but she is fine with it now. I was trying to get her to take a bath in our bedroom and she decided she wanted a shower instead. Silly girl.

cowboy princess?

In Wichita we picked up another round of hand-me-downs from my cousin Stephanie. So yesterday as we were cleaning the house, Madison had to wear the dress with the cowboy boots (both hand-me-downs) plus her new hat from Aunt Renny, and her sunglasses. She is also helping us clean, see the duster in her hand. Thanks Steph and Renny!

rest of the trip

Sunday night we stopped by Spencer's house and then we all met Ashley and Cy at Salty Iguana for dinner. More yum.
Monday morning we packed up and said goodbye to Rick's family. Then split up for lunch. Rick had lunch with his old HOK crew. Madison and I met 360 friends, including Meaghan and her new baby Graham and Carissa and Emaline. Madison wasn't sure about Emaline at first, but by the end they were chasing each other around. Great to see them all!
Then we headed to Wichita for another quick stop. Carrie and Craig brought Park over so we could meet him. Very cute! And great hair! (he has a mohawk).
Madison and I didn't sleep well that night. She had a nightmare about a hippo and didn't feel good away, so I slept with her. And we ended up sleeping in until 10 on Tuesday! Then we had to head for home.
It was a whirlwind weekend but we had fun seeing everyone! Hopefully we'll see everyone again soon!

Sunday we headed to the Royals game to check out the new renovations to the stadium. It helped that they were playing the White Sox. Renny, Luke and Brian came too, although we seem to not have any pics of them. The kids loved the new kids area. A carousel, a playground, a splash area, more. We were able to watch a little of the game, but only when we stood in front of the fountains in the Pepsi Party Deck. It was standing room only at a counter, but Madison just sat on the counter and was fairly content. We made it to the 5th inning and then the kids were done. In there defense, it was a 1:00 game and that is Madison's nap time. She fell asleep in the car on the way home and didn't even notice when I moved her to her crib.

Parade Day

On Saturday the 4th we went to the Lenexa Independence Day Parade. We brought our bags for the candy that they hand out. They also gave out the flags that the kids had fun with. After waking up early that morning to a thunderstorm, we had perfect weather for the parade, cool and cloudy.

After nap we had the traditional burgers for dinner. And homemade ice cream. Yum! Too bad Madison has decided she doesn't like ice cream. Silly girl.
