Madison 6 years

Its hard to believe my little girl just turned 6 years old. She has grown into an amazing, beautiful, stubborn, brilliant girl who never ceases to amaze me. She is in afternoon Kindergarten and her class started at 10, but we are down to 7 kids. She is doing very well in school. She is reading and is excellent at math. She still asks a million questions and falls asleep most nights in less than 5 minutes. She has big ears and hears everything. And I can't even spell in front of her without her guessing what I said. She has been doing Gymnastics and really liked it until it got hard (more training and less games). She has also been doing dance again, although I had to talk her into the last session so we'll see if that continues. For her birthday we got her a wardrobe closet for her American Girl Doll and she loves organizing her doll's clothes. She still loves wearing dresses and anything fancy. And she really wants a pair of high heels. She loves to read which makes me so happy! I'm excited about reading chapter books with her. We finally talked her into watching the movie Brave for her birthday and now she loves it and it isn't scary at all. (she won't watch most movies right now because they are scary, even the ones she has seen a million times.) She is mostly a great big sister. She is a little rough with Parker but we keep telling her he is going to bigger than her one of these days. My favorite thing is when they play together or she makes him laugh. So sweet. I'm excited to see what the next year holds for her.

Here I go again..

So I know its been over a year since I've been on here. And I know if I don't get back I won't remember anything because I have the worst memory ever. So I'm going to make a new attempt to be a better blogger. But the photos slow me down and make it hard. So I'm going to try to be write more and add photos less. And I'm going to apologize in advance because I'm not a good writer (as you can tell). So here goes nothing.

the whole fam dam

Another one I forgot to add. This was taken at Thanksgiving and my parents used it as their Christmas card. Pretty good looking bunch. Not sure how we got everyone looking at the camera and mostly smiling.

Christmas #4

The weekend of New Year's, Renny and family came in town for our last Christmas celebration. We didn't do a good job of getting pictures though. Luke and Madison got a long well. And Ella is getting old enough that Madison enjoys playing with her more too. Here are Luke and Maddie looking at a toy catalog. Oh and there was more good food!

Christmas vacation

Rick took the week off between Christmas and New Year's. We had lots of good weather and Christmas presents to play with. It was fun to have Daddy home that long and we were sad when he had to go back to work.

Princess puzzle and Lego house.

Christmas #3

Later Christmas morning we went to Rick's parent's for another Christmas. And more food. Cheese grits, herb bread and Banana cake. Yum.

Christmas #2

We came back to KC Christmas Eve. We had a fancy dinner that night, which meant dressing up, candles and Madison got to eat off a plate that wasn't plastic. The next morning Madison was in our room about 6:30 ready to go downstairs and was very frustrated that she had to wait for Parker to eat first. Once again she had to help Parker open all his gifts. Madison got a Pizza Playdough maker (which she had been talking about for months) and a Millennium Falcon and lots of small things from Santa. Parker got a set of musical instruments, Woody and a dump truck.
Then we opened presents under the tree, which Madison opened them all again. And we finished the morning with Christmas casserole. Perfection.
