In early September we went to Wichita. It was supposed to be for the week. We were going to do some fun things with Madison and have my parents do some babysitting. But Parker decided not to cooperate. He was sleeping from 7pm-7am and only eating once. But by the time we left he was getting up every 4 hours. He also decided a week or so before we went that he didn't want to eat from a bottle anymore. So we ended up coming home a few days early so we could get Parker back on schedule. We did manage to have some fun though. We went to the Cosmosphere in Hutch one day. Including lunch at the Carriage Crossing. Madison teaching me how to use Grandma's iPad. Parker on his tummy. Enjoying Grandpa's birthday cake. Madison and Grandpa in their KU shirts. Parker and Aunt Ashley.
My dad's birthday is September 11th. And 10 years ago on Sept 11, he was home alone. I had just had surgery on my knee the day before so Mom was up in KC helping me. So for the 10th anniversary it was kind of fitting that the entire family plus kiddos were all home this year. Happy Birthday Dad! Oh and yes, that is Issac grabbing a candle off the cake :)
Later that same night we were hanging out outside and the light was just right. So Rick grabbed the camera and tried to get Maddie to pose. And for once she didn't cooperate the way he wanted her too. Although I think this picture is pretty sweet.
At the first of September we had a beautiful weekend, so we took Rick to the OP Arboretum. The pictures of Madison in the grass are for my dad. And the last picture of Madison cracks me up because Maddie loves to pose for pictures.
A picture of Madison with our neighbor Sophia. She is 1st grade and every day Madison asks me if Sophia is home yet. And they always hug each other goodnight when its time to come in.
My friend Gretchen gave us a kid's swing for the playground. So Maddie and I decided to see if Parker liked it. Of course what baby doesn't like a swing. I think this is also the first picture we have of Parker smiling. He smiles a lot, but he always freezes up in front of the camera. He is too busy looking the camera to smile. So we distracted him for this one. Oh and he is also not really this bald in person. But he does need to start growing some hair!
Madison's first day of school this year. She is going to 4's preschool at Valley View. She has class M, W and F morning and she stays on Wed for "extended day" which means until 2:30. She loves her new class, although she is one of 3 girls, with 7 boys. She also loves her teachers Mrs. Rothgeb and Mrs. Cooper. Her boyfriend Benjamin is also in her class :)
