binkie fairy

So all I have to say is I love the binkie fairy!
I've been trying to get up the nerve to get rid of the binkie for 2 years. But Maddie got good at just using it when she slept, so I didn't push it. But after Disney I decided I was done. So ever since we got back we have been slowly cutting it off. She got to the point that she wasn't really using it, but she always asked for it before bedtime. So last Friday I told her that the binkie fairy was coming that night to take her binkies and she would leave a present.
Saturday morning she didn't really remember, so I pointed out the new doll and she was so excited. As soon as she saw it she said she had put on her dress too. So we got her all made up look like the new doll. Then she decided that the dolls name was Princess Marie. She has slept with her ever since. She has asked about the binkie a couple of times and I just reminder her that the binkie fairy took them. And she has slept great ever since. Thank goodness that went well!
Here are pics of her with Princess Marie.

Fun Friday

A couple of Fridays ago Madison decided to build a tower. She loves to build towers and then knock them down. She wanted me to take a picture of her with the tower.
Here she is sticking out her tongue. When I asked her who taught her to stick out her tongue, I thought she would say Emaline, but she said Spencer. Too funny!
Madison found this hand-me-down cowgirl outfit. She knew immediately that Jessie matched the outfit.

keens

Maddie modeling her hand-me-down Keens from Elison. She has also been working on her posing.

back on the road

One tired little girl on the way back to Dallas. She didn't take a nap all weekend and that is not normal yet. So she was pooped!

Handzel party in ta-town

The weekend after my birthday, Carissa and the girls agreed to meet me in Wichita for the weekend! Friday afternoon the girls just played together. That night we went to dinner and it was Carissa's first trip to a Lebonese restaurant. Saturday morning my sister let us all tag along for wedding dress shopping and she found the one! Then lunch and more playing, including the park, that afternoon. Saturday night M&D fixed steaks for my birthday dinner. Then breakfast the next morning and we all hit the road.
The girls also thought playing with Spencer was pretty great. Friday night Carissa asked Emaline what her favorite thing of the day was and she said "talking to the crazy guy at dinner". Spencer.
It was so great to get to spend some quality time with my family and the Handzels!
All the girls.

Princesses!

Wedding veils!

jump up and down

Madison loves to teach school now. She will teach her stuffed animals, or her babies, or Rick and I or her imaginary friends. She loves to sing this song "jump up and down", something they sing at school to each kid. You'll notice her friends from school get it trouble too. And at the end she is gracefully as ever.... (I had to rotate the video, so it cute her head off a little. And Sadie is playing with a ball in the back ground, so that is the squeaking noise.)

Finally, she pedals...

It has taken a long time for Maddie to get the hang of actually pedalling her tricycle. I blame daycare for this. They have tricycles outside that they can ride, but for her age, they don't have pedals, they are just for pushing with her feet. Anyway, this is from Feb 20th. She can do downhill or flat pretty well. Not sure these are the best shoes for the bike, but I'm sure she insisted on it. Oh and by the way, she is riding down the alley behind and to the side of house to get the park. And the helmet is mine. She has grown out of her toddler size helmet and we have yet to get her a youth size. So for now, we just made mine really small.
