Nema!

The weekend after my birthday my mom came up to help us paint the living room. Since Madison was in daycare anyway on Friday, she and Rick painted on Friday while we were gone. Then I helped Friday night. It looks really good! Thank you Mom!! We couldn't have done it without her. Madison loved seeing her Nema too.

Happy Birthday to Mommy

It turned out that I needed to switch my days off the week of my birthday. So since I had to go in on Friday, I decided to take my birthday off. Madison and I had a wonderful day together. We met Rick for lunch at Cheesecake Factory. I had to get a picture of Maddie with her cute coat and pigtails. She also went through a stage for about a week where she wore her baby legs over her socks and under her pants, as demonstrated in the pictures below. She even slept with her socks, baby legs and pjs on for a couple of nights.

getting the light just right

Rick took some fun pictures of Madison and I sitting in the sunlight the next day.

swaddle the baby

After presents Madison wanted Dad to practice swaddling the baby.

Later that night after the aquarium, Madison gave me her birthday present to me. She gave me a bunch of tank tops. She had to help me open the present and then she wanted to try on the tank tops. She also wanted me to try one on...

The Dallas World Aquarium

The weekend before my birthday we went to the Aquarium to celebrate. The Dallas aquarium is more like a zoo than just an aquarium. You start at the top and then work your way down and under water. At the beginning is the monkeys, birds and river otter. Then the alligator, spider, trantulas, bats, sloths, rays and turtles. Then you go "underground" and see the manatees, and catfish and turtles as big as Sadie. Then through a tunnel to the next area that has the saltwater fish in a bunch of separate tanks, then penguins, and then a huge tank with a glass tunnel you can walk through that has sharks, sawfish and rays swimming above you. Then you make your way up and see the jaguar, flamingos and storks. Needless to say it is quite a tour. We had a wonderful morning.
Looking at the birds.

Looking at the monkeys.

Well, I'm only putting this picture up because Madison's face is quite funny. My face is awful, but oh well. BTW, Madison just saw the waterfall.

The waterfall.

The stingrays.

The see through tank.

The penguins.

The Jaguar. He would pace around his enclosure and right when he got to this corner he would roll over. He was definitely showing off.

The flamingos.

lounging

Lately Madison wants to put her blanket from school over her legs on the way home from school. So when we got home 2 weeks ago, she decided it should go on her head. And then she wanted to lounge...
